“Pain. Her name. That’s what it meant and why I can remember it. It was my mother’s name and she unwittingly lived up to it. Even died by it.”
Crazy memories. And all of those memories involve another person. Breakups. Wild parties. Crazy business ventures. Crazy activism, while realizing everyone around you is on a different team, their own team. Competing against you despite that you are the one paying them so much money. Yada Yada Yada…
In my line of work, my business title is a “Producer/Influencer/activist”. I’ve seen my share of craziness. And the one thing I’ve seen over and over is betrayal.
To be called unpatriotic by patriots. To receive death threats from patriots.
And you say, “Well, Shawn, they ain’t patriots if they wantin’ to kill you.” In a perfect world, that’s right. But it ain’t perfect.
This is America. Patriotism does not mean Libertarianism and Republicanism. It does for me. And most probably for you. But not for #BLM. Their patriotism runs deep, so deep… look at what they are willing to do. The same goes for #antifa. Yes, they are getting paid… but it is their zeal that motivates them.
We laughed at tide-pod eaters. Are they really so crazy they’d act out their fantasies of Suicide Squad? Yes. They would.
I think it’s natural for people to force their way and will, on others. And I don’t think it is as bad as we think… I think it’s instinct, and happens all the time. I also believe it is married to survival.
People are lonely and just want to be a part of something bigger than themselves. God put that desire there. “If it ain’t worth dying for, it ain’t worth livin’ for.” I am like that. And you are like that.
Can you dig what I’m talkin’ about when I say “Soft Betrayal”? The little things that you over-look because the relationship means more than the benefit of that relationship. Money borrowed and never paid back. The fact that you know they talk negatively about you with other people. You tolerate it because, let’s face it, sometimes you love them. And sometimes the right thing to do is overlook it. Christ tolerated. Christ over-looked.
And you need to know. Your ability to over-look is also proof of the love – that belongs to the Lord Jesus – placed in your heart by God Himself. Think about it… the Spirit of God visited the virgin Mary and created Himself in her womb. He did not have spiritual sex with her. So… I want you to focus on this: God created Himself in her womb.
He’s recreating Himself in you.
Remember when Sarah called Abraham, Lord? When you make Jesus your Lord when you accept His Love for you – which is in all that He has done to secure your passage into Him and His passage into your life… He – the person of Christ – is made manifest in your personage. You look like Him. Talk like Him. You act like Him. Your Christian friends and loved ones talk like Him. Give advice like Him. Joke like Him. This is what [Where two or more are gathered He is there also.] means.
Over-looking… is that love that covers a multitude of sins. And it is in these interactions that we bear with one another in order to become more like Christ. All the while living, and knowing, every Christian around us, will only be like Christ when we see Him. And that we should tolerate and over-look soft and small betrayals.
I can’t help but think… there are parents and grand-parents who’d be crushed if they knew their Adult children are involved with Antifa. And I also can’t help but think… these individuals involved with Antifa were let down by those same parents.
“Well come on Shawn. You can’t predict how the Lord has knit these children together.”
I have one things to say, “Things reproduce after their own kind.” And drama is part of life. Soft. little betrayals, are happening to us, and around us, at all times. Love all peoples. Especially those you have relationships with. Don’t just cast them aside when there is friction. Bear with them. Tolerate them. Consider their needs above yours. And you will witness something amazing.
Where two, or more, are gathered…
Sheep, flock, goats do not.
Have a great day! And be good to yourself.
