Christian Do You Work For The Enemy?

I’m sure your fist response is no.

Do you know what Satan’s primary function/goal/business is in the life of the believer?

I’m sure, like most Christians, you will say it is to tempt Christian into doing wrong. My response to that would be: “Why would that be his goal when he knows that you are no longer under the law of sin and death. He knows that he doesn’t have your soul. And he’s not overly concerned about those he has.”

So what does the Devil do? What’s his business?

Remember this… everything God wants, Satan wants the opposite. So, if you want to know what Satan wants most… 1st find out what God wants most and you will find the answer.

Are you ready to receive a great truth not taught in many churches these days and used by the enemy to accomplish his purposes?

Out of everything God wants and does, what do you think is His primary purpose? What is His crowning desire? What is God’s motivation behind every action, every word, every miracle, every judgment? Are you ready for this?

God’s primary objective is to glorify His Son. (Phil. 2:10)

1st off, you need to know what Glorify means. Glorify means to make known. Glory means known. Glorious means: worthy to be known.

Why did God create the heavens, the earth, the stars and planets, Adam and Eve? To glorify Christ. Why did God send the great flood in the days of Noah? Ultimately, to glorify Christ. Behind every word of every story, behind all circumstances, behind the reason for your life – whether saved or not – the purpose for all things is to glorify Jesus Christ, which culminates in the ultimate glorification when every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Phil. 2:10) That is the ultimate glorification.

Now we can understand what Satan’s business is and understand his motivation. Satan’s main objective, his main purpose, is to make sure Jesus is NOT glorified i.e. known… BY ANYONE.

“So, how does that work on me Shawn when I’m saved and love the Lord?”

Well… let’s look at how Satan / the Devil accomplishes his objectives through Christians.

Rev. 12:10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, he who accuses them day and night before our God.

Notice that he performs this act of accusing the brethren day and night. This is the primary purpose of his existence. Satan, the Devil… is the author of legalism. Yes.

Christian, you are no longer under the law. You are a new creation. That old system doesn’t even apply to you. So… you are going about your business and the enemy is telling that you are not free, That Jesus’ sacrifice was not good enough. That, though the Bible says that salvation is free… he tells you that you need to keep working for it.

And he tells you something else.

He tells you, in order to relieve the evil induced guilt that you feel, you must do and be as he is, and let other Christians – who are saved by the meritless favor of God and are no longer under the law – that they must continue in their striving to be good enough. He pushes you to tell the world the same. He doesn’t want you showing the world what being free looks like. He wants you to destroy other Christians and he wants you to repel the nonbeliever. He wants you to make a mockery of the GOSPEL. He wants to use you to prevent Jesus from getting any glory.

It is quite natural for the immature Christian to not understand these things. And please understand, maturity in Christ has nothing to do with how long you have been saved. It is how well you understand grace. The one thing at the very heart of our salvation. God’s grace. To not understand how GRACE looks in the life of a believer. They are known as the weaker brethren. (Romans 14:2) And they need the milk of grace to arrive at a place of understanding it. They tend to wreak havoc in churches and in the life of other believers. They must be told over and over that our salvation is not a DO thing, but a DONE thing.

Romans 14: 10 – 12 … why do you judge your brother? Or why do you belittle your brother? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: “As surely as I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before Me; every tongue will confess to God.”  So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.…

So, do you work for Satan? I don’t think you want too! Understand, the guilt you feel…. you can let go of it. The only one holding onto it is you.

Usually, the most legalistic people are the ones who continue in a lifestyle where the conviction of the Holy Spirit is needed. They project onto others the legalism with which they measure themselves by. If this is you, it means you are working for the purpose of Satan, and not our Lord.

Let Go and Let God. Glorify God in your body. Today can be the 1st day of your new life. Free from the power of sin i.e. guilt. And free to live victoriously and glorify the name of Jesus and be a light to the world.

Good day!

  1. Thank you for that perspective brother. I have never thought about it like that. It’s such a simple concept, but totally true. I have to remember the KISS principle.
